The Jacob and Delilah Bovey Family Tree 1807-1958 by Gertrude Zollinger
"Delilah Kretsinger was born in the Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, in 1818. some years later, she, with her parents, George and Dorothy Kretsinger, moved to Maryland.
Jacob Bovey, the son of John and Margaret (Walgermude) Bovey, was born on April 27, 1807, near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
In April, 1835, Delilah and Jacob were married in Maryland. They became interested in moving to the "west", Illinois, and there they spent the remainder of their lives in the vicinity of Mt. Morris.
To them were born nine children, seven of whom are named herein; two of the nine died in infancy or early childhood.
The Boveys were both active members of the United Brethren church for may years, their home being a stopping place for circuit riders of those days. These circuit riders, as well as may relatives and neighbors of Delilah and Jacob, appreciated the dignity and wholesome attitude of Jacob, the humor of Delilah, and the warm personality and hospitality of both.
Jacob Bovey predeceased Delilah, passing away December 11, 1879, at the age of 72 years. After the decease of Jacob, Delilah lived for a number of years with her youngest son, George Bovey and family, at the old homestead. She also spent some years with her daughter, Mahala, (Mrs. John Hanstine and family) where she passed away in Mt. Morris, Illinois, June 29, 1905, aged 89 years."
